What Are Radiology Services?

Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging technologies to diagnose and treat diseases. Radiologists are doctors who specialize in radiology, while radiology technologists are trained to operate radiology equipment.

Types of Radiology Services at EARH

Ultrasound Services

Ultrasound is a safe and painless procedure that can be used to image a variety of body parts, including the heart, liver, kidneys, and muscles. Doctors use ultrasound to diagnose pregnancy, heart disease, and cancer.

MRI Services

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is a more detailed imaging test than ultrasound. It provides helpful images of the brain, spinal cord, and other organs in the body to diagnose cancer, heart disease, stroke, and other conditions. EARH partners with Mobile MRI of Washington for our MRI services.

X-Ray Lab

X-rays are a less detailed imaging test than MRI or ultrasound. However, they are less expensive and can be used to image a wider range of body parts. X-rays are typically used to diagnose broken bones, pneumonia, and cancer.

CT Scanning Services

CT (computed tomography) scans are a type of X-ray that can create detailed images of the body’s internal structures. East Adams Rural Healthcare uses CT scans to diagnose cancer, heart disease, and stroke.

Imaging Department Team

Our radiology services are provided by a team of experienced radiologists and technologists. EARH’s radiologists are board-certified by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), and our technologists are certified and have received specialized training in the use of radiology equipment.

Images created at East Adams Rural Healthcare are read and interpreted by Inland Imaging in Spokane, Washington. Our imaging department provides radiology services to patients of all ages, including those who are referred by other healthcare providers.
