The Paramedic position provides quality patient care in the out-of-hospital setting, including assessment of illness and/or injury, administering emergency care, and transportation services. Responds within the scope of training under operational guidelines and physician medical control.
Responsibilities:
The Paramedic position provides quality patient care in the out-of-hospital setting, including assessment for illness and/or injury, administering emergency care, and transportation services for emergent and non-emergent care.
Operate ambulance in all weather conditions safely and with due regard.
Responds to medical emergencies within the scope of training under operational guidelines and physician medical control.
Provide training and mentorship to paid call EMT staff.
Work in hospital or clinic as assigned.
Restocks and replaces used linens, blankets, supplies,
Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures, in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, decontaminates the interior of the vehicle after transport of patient with contagious infection or hazardous materials exposure
Maintains ambulance in efficient operating condition: neat, clean and orderly
Ensures all reports are completed in a timely and appropriate manner
Additionally:
Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical control, licensing or certifying agencies.
Qualifications:
Current registration as a Paramedic with the National Registry of EMT’s
Current certification as a Paramedic with the Washington Department of Health
Current American Heart Association BLS certification and current certification as an instructor or provider (or obtain within 90 days of hire date)-company paid
Current American Heart Association ACLS certification and current certification as an instructor or provider (or obtain within 90 days of hire)-company paid
Current state-issued driver’s license (with acceptable driving history)
